My jewellery has been inspired by natural forms. I use silver, 18 carat gold, silk paper and gum nuts to create my jewellery. Collections include "Daisy", Acorn Cup", " Acorn Cup Wrap" and "Silver Acorn Cup Wrap".

These pieces are constructed from individual acorn cup and daisy units assembled to create both large and small scale pieces of jewellery. The cups are assembled to hang in long articulated chains or set in to intricate wire structures that adorn the body.

Handwriting forms the starting point for my work; sections from old postcards, letters and documents are randomly selected and gathered together. Stamps are added to introduce colour with contrasting print; words, numbers, pattern and imagery. The writing is used due to my interest in message making. The messages are always ambiguous and represent the idea of short uncertain conversations. The words are often reduced to small details of the whole message and sometimes appear as pattern or overlapping markings.

The found paper is combined with silver and small details of gold. The silver is rollprinted with paper and appears in either matt white or black. Other surface details include pierced holes, which are then stretched, and gold scraps melted into silver. These elements are selected randomly to produce pieces, which are always uniquely gathered. The elements are often cold connected by using tube rivets in either silver or gold.

The contrasts of writing styles and the colourings are important, as are other subtle contrasts. Inspiration also comes from mixing opposites together; the old and new, precious and non-precious, decorative and minimal, linear and solid. I produce necklaces, bracelets, brooches, cufflinks and earrings in small editions and as one-off pieces.

Working from a studio in Glasgow the business was established in 2003. Paula Specialises in designing and individually crafting each piece in her collection to ensure unique results.

Precious metals, fresh water pearls and semi-precious stones are incorporated into the collections.

My work consists of an eclectic mix of textured components made from precious metals. The textures I create on the components are based on a range of inspirations including the work of Japanese textile artists and the Japanese textile company, Nuno Coperation.

I create textures on metal through rollprinting a range of different papers including handmade paper from Japan and paper doilies. To highlight and contrast the different textures, I oxidise silver and use different carats of yellow gold. In many pieces, such as my brooches, the components are held within silver or steel wire frames. The inspiration behind the shape of these frames is the work of Japanese textile artists Masakazu Kobayashi and Chiyu Uemae.

My collection of work ranges from precious metal earrings, bangles, cufflinks, brooches to large steel neckpieces and interlocking steel brooches. I am also available for commissions..
